Very nice bike. Nice fat rear tire. Quiet exhaust needs to put Vand H slip ons.
I say, take your buddy out for drinks, get him drunk then demand he turn over the keys for you to drive home. The V-rod may not be my cup of tea, but damn it is a blast when my son leaves his in my garage and I feel compelled to "exercise" the bike so the battery does not die [despite the pigtail for a trickle charger]
Funny, I just rode around for the first time with my friend and his new V-Rod. We stop for gas and every one stopped to look at his bike complimenting it. We ride some more stop for something to drink at a convenience store and everyone coming in an out is looking at his bike and complimenting it. He was like a movie star.
I agree Mid controls. You have to lean so far forward and your feet are forward like a u shape. Could be uncomfortable on a long ride?
I'd buy an 8th model year Super Glide V-rod that has a reasonable steering head angle, ground clearance and foot pegs where they're supposed to be. HD won't do anything with that bike and engine because they don't sell many. They don't sell many because they won't do anything with that bike that's functional. All the while crying that young people won't come to the brand.
Common sense is the new super power.

Same thing happened to me when I had my 07 Nightrod Special. Everytime I pulled it out of the garage I would get compliments. I'd be sitting in traffic and hear a car honk its horn turn around and the driver would be giving me the thumbs up. @ the HD dealerships no matter how many times I walked outside somebody would be standing there looking at it like its a fricking bat mobile or something!!!
It's funny cause I always hear a lot of negative stuff said about them on HD forums but received nothing but compliments and praise from HD riders & sport bike riders when I was out n about....?
