Let us know what the rivets look like. Had a bit over 30,000 on my 1200 when I pulled the plates, was working fine, but the rivets were real loose. None had come apart yet, but I thought it was time to get rid of them. Got a new plate set, might have gotten by with just getting the plates to replace the spring plate, but now I doubt I'll ever have to get into the clutch again. I don't know why some seem to last forever, some let go before 10,000 miles. But I don't have to worry about it anymore, no more rivets.

Congratulations.

I hope you took a picture of it when you were done. More than one person, me included, like to see these things.

Default Some stuff has been installed...

I did the pegs. Fronts are take offs from the shed(Iron, XR, VROD style) and rears are some PNA "Silencer" pegs I had coated in wrinkle black. Tech at work is finishing handlebars after we close. Lucky Dave's Riser Bar, coated in glossy black, and with some new turn signal housings also coated glossy black. 99% of front end is black after today.
I kinda have mixed feelings about the front axle covers. A little too big really.

The fun part is I did 560 miles since Friday, gallivanting all over NE PA. Included in there was a change of primary oil and clutch adjustment. The only thing left that I wanted to do was check the primary chain, so after a 98 mile ride today, when it was nice & hot, I put it up on the lift and started that.

BUT...when I pulled off the spark plug boots (removing plugs to make turning the back wheel easier), the rear plug boot popped off, leaving the metal collar attached to the spark plug. CRAAAAAAAAAAAAP!!!!!!
After inspection/comparison to the good boot, it seemed like I could push it back on and be able to ride until I get a replacement wire. A quick mile around my community felt good. Do I chance it and do my 110mi commute tomorrow as planned?

My head says No. Heart says Yes. So I guess I will be riding tomorrow!

My bike has a set of braided silver/chrome wires, I'd like to keep that style. Any recommendations on wire sets to get or avoid?

I had that same thing happen with my sportys SE wires

I used magnum braided sterling chromite on my destroyed dyna, they were the same 8mm as stock. Goods stuff with pivots built into the boot head for flexibility. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...l#post14687420

I need to get a new set

I did some detailing and cleaning over the weekend, after spending some $$$ at the dealer on cleaning products. Then I took the Staged 1 883 out for a romp yesterday. It ran pretty good.
