They could have used aped out lowriders and a lot more people would be on Softails, but they didn't, so the Dyna craze grew even more.
The show did but the club running those bikes were not the stars of the show. The softail/ape thing is also very popular with another club (which that club advised for those bikes). I see both styles represented in the respective clubs. But not one style in the other.
Actually, to use this analogy, a long pry bar but very close to the bolt/nut works better. If you use that same long bar, but put a long extension on the socket, it works much worse. Tall t-bars and apes are more like using that long extension, your point of leverage is way away from the actual thing you are trying to lever. You analogy would be more close to comparing short drag bars to long beach bars, both on risers.

Thats why I went back. Everyone is going full fairing and such. When I get to a spot I don't see many narrow ness set ups. It's always tsport or Frp/t fairing and lowers. Or a 49mm ness fairing
even though it's older style in this genre. I like it and still think it looks slick
