It should look like this, but with the dual exhausts that come on the UK model:

Further down the line perhaps highway pegs or a moustache bar, I need to ride the bike for a while to see how important it is to stretch my legs from time to time. I have bars on the Sportster because it is a bit too small for me, but the LR may be ok without?

Once the bike has broken in, I will think about slipons, Stage 1, suspension.... again it may or may not need it, we'll see. It is very easy to go overboard on a Harley
Very nice! What is the HD scene like in your country? How common are HD bikes?

Well, the Brits have a bit of an obsession with sports bikes so you see a lot of fast Suzukis, Yamahas and Ducatis. Of course the country is far smaller than the US and the roads are not as straight, wide or well maintained so big heavy touring bikes are not the most obvious choice. Still, Harleys are fairly common as well and there is a decent dealer network. There are 4 dealers within 45 minutes to an hour away from me.

Did you get a chance to demo a LR, faded Glory? What led you the LR?

Yes the dealers here are very good with demo's, you fill in some paperwork and they give you the keys to take the bike out for an hour or so, by yourself, to go wherever you like. They had a nearly new 2015 model to try out.

I like the styling of my Sportster and wanted something similar, the classic cruiser look with screen, sissy bar and bags. I just needed a somewhat bigger bike to fit me better ergonomically. The LR rides well and can be kitted out to give me that look, it is not too heavy and big so it fitted the bill.

I looked at them before but wasn't blown away by the single exhaust style, a bit of a drainpipe really, nor were the 2015/16 colours on offer all that much to my liking. The silver was best but I was really hoping for red. Then I looked at the 2017 models and hey, both red and dual exhausts came on the UK model! I took the test ride and found that the LR really isn't that much heavier or less eager in the corners than the Sportster, so I took the plunge. I also think that the dual front discs are a good improvement.

Just waiting for it to arrive now, should be a couple more weeks.

Who will be the first to own and post a picture of a 2017 RED one?
