Congrads on getting the LR. Do tell more. How did you run across it?
Copying from another post -
I've wanted a newer bike for a while now. Old bike was starting to nickel and dime me, and was going to end up costing some serious money just to keep it roadworthy. Hit Cooks Corner with my grandfather on Saturday, on the way home he needed to stop at the dealer for a couple gaskets for his bike. All the people there knew my old bike since I was constantly in there for parts...
For farts and giggles, I told the sales guy let's see what I'd get for trade on my old bike. Being a mish mash of parts, and a salvage title, I'm thinking nothing. Nope - $5k. Turns out the appraiser messed up, and missed the salvage title box that had been checked on the form, and they gave me 110% blue book on my bike. Deal was basically done from there. Worked in installation of a set of Lucky Dave's Tbars in, should happen this week, and my credit was solid so I was able to get a good rate.
They had plenty of black bikes on the floor, but only the blue LR caught my eye...when they told me what they'd give me on trade, I had to have it...

Cool Story DK. I guess you'll have to do some double post between this thread and the THUG thread. I end up doing the same thing on the reg.
My bike is back to being Black now. The crappy painter (me) must have rushed the white paint job. Still looking for a better paint job in the winter.
That's a great trade in value for your old scoot. I would have taken it too.

I hope to one day experience something like this. Man o man. No one in this thread would have done other than what you done.

Hell yes. A story you can tell for years. Trust me, somehow I would have ended up paying much more
If I had the choice of a blue bike over a black one, I would have done it in a heartbeat. I hope someday to be able to have my tins painted midnight blue.
The blue and red colors are really nice and I bet a lot of 2017 LR buyers will be getting blue and red bikes. I believe the rarest color is the purple that was offered on the 2016 LR. I have never seen one on the streets or at a a dealer. I'm not even sure a purple LR owner has posted in this thread.

I was at a dealership that had a purple one. It was nice, all of them are, but I don't think I could have pulled that color off. I thought it was more so aimed at the ladies, but I have seen a few nice purple Street Bobs that were bad azzes.

What other mods do you have planned?
Nothing too crazy for now on mods. Besides the bars, in the short term I'm looking at a paint matched tsport repop fairing, bassani road rage (most likely the chrome one, steering away from black on this build), PC5, then addressing the suspension. Want to add some cornering clearance and address the softness of the front end. Not sure exactly where I'm going with that yet.
Basically, I want this bike to be a nice, solid, comfortable commuter with some get-up-and-go for the day-to-day, but be able to hit the twisties on the weekend.
