If you do wear assless chaps (which is redundant, chaps, by definition, are assless. Crotchless too actually...) then be sure to not ruin the look by wearing pants underneath. Cheeks in the breeze my friends. Just make sure if your seat is black, that you cover it up when parked in the sun, unless your enjoy your cheeks turning red, which just may float your boat.
Don't ask this forum for fashion advice. The ripping on chaps, proves posters are ignorant. Good chaps extend your riding season, and are excellent protection.
They are much easier to take on and off than leather pants. Most threads are going to have nasty comments, ball busting and offensive jokes. But you'll also get caring empathy, great technical advice, lifesaving advice. So stick around.
Welcome, to HD bike ownership. Riders apparel tends to evolve over time. New riders tend to wear whatever their budget allows. The next level are riders that have been riding for a number of years and they tend to wear non-harley leather that mimics the HD branded gear. Next are those seasoned riders that accept only the finest and exclusively wear HD apparel, from underwear to full leather riding suits. Since I have been riding 50 years, I have recently been honored and embraced by the most exclusive group. Pirates. I now wear Pirate apparel 24/7. My bike has airbrushed images of Pirates and Wenches, and I recently had my teeth caped in gold. Well, only the ones I have left.
Thanks Ron750 and thanks to all...I knew that I was going to get some ribbing so I was prepared for it. I have a neighbor that told me that wearing chaps in the winter is a good idea. It's still very hot here in Central Texas today's high will be 98 degrees. I will worry about chaps or any other cold weather gear when the time comes. Have a great day and ride safe out there!! And yes...I will wear what ever the heck I want!!!
