Default 2010 Road Glide Custom FLTRX Build/Project Thread (Picture Heavy)

Last week I finally pulled the trigger and traded in my 2005 Dyna Super Glide Custom that I had spent a lot of time working on from where it had began. Dealer let me remove most of my aftermarket stuff to sell privately. Below is a picture of my old Dyna.

Pictures of it being taken apart the night before.

Here is the 2010 Road Glide Custom that I traded in for. My Road Glide has 19,xxx miles.

Installed my Bung King Deleon shift peg from my dyna which is really comfortable.

Got a free seat off an Ultra from a buddy for me and my wife.

Just installed some new black diamond highway pegs for some added comfort. Still deciding on the exact direction that I'm taking the bike. I really loved the MX T-bar set up that I had on my dyna. Looking to do bars and stereo next. Looking for any opinions or advice on both bars and a good exhaust set up. Can't decide right now between true duals or 2-1 exhaust.

as a long term RG owner, i would recommend the following in terms of potential upgrades and products. Also in this order

factory 47 bars, Malos or RG Assualt bars at least 14's, anything else is too low.
Daymakers, either the knockoffs on ebay or factory HD. You will be very pleased.
CD dynamic rings in front, CD LED's in rear.
Lowers, why? help with debris, engine seems to run cooler, place for speakers.
Rear Shocks, seems either CVO takeoffs or Olins are best. I like the CVO take offs
Front suspension, progressive mono tubes, you will thank me later.
19 inch wheel up front, either an enforcer front and rear take off from a 16 or just the front. handling improves.
107 kit from fuel moto with their recommended cams. will make the 96, from the 2010 year vintage, a distant memory
Stereo, go for 6 speakers, a 4 channel amp, something recommended by the experts over on the audio forum. this one is out of order from taking the front fairing off as i think $$ should be invested in safety and handling before stereo. You may differ in your opinion.

last, Get a different windshield. That thing is ugly.

here is a pic of my 2010. I have done everything above except for the 19 wheels and 6 speaker stereo. I have a 4 speaker stereo and waiting on needing tires before i do the wheel upgrade. My bars are Yafee and came with the bike when purchased. they are 10's and are too low. My other RG has 14's and are perfect. They will get changed out but not till this winter.

Thanks for the input and list. Here is a short list of some of the things I play on doing to my bike as time rolls on. I'm trying to get a lot done over winter to have it ready for next spring. Here is a list of things I would like to do. no particular order right now.

-Moons MC Moonmaker 2 LED headlight system - already ordered
-Legends Revo Adjustable Rear Shocks - when I need to replace the stock air shocks.
-Custom Dynamics LED tails and front turns
-Lowers - painted to match by Hogworkz
-Stereo - my friend who is very experienced in this area is helping me

here is a list of things I also plan on doing but looking for input or opinions on:
-Bars???
-Windshield??? - still want to be able to have good wind protection
-2-into-1 Exhaust - VH ProPipe, Rinehart 2-1, Rush 2-1, Freedom Union 2-1, Magnaflow 2-1

Default Windshield

Coach....Is that a Cee Bailey windshield ? If so, it really works to keep the wind off. I had a 14" on my 11 RGU and loved it. Never had any problem with my helmets catching the air and shaking. I wish it had been a darker tint but I bought the bike used and that's what it came with.
Harley is selling a windshield now that looks and works almost exactly like the CB but with the Harley brand on it. I traded for a 17 FLTRXS so now I'm in the market for a new one and am thinking about either the CB or the HD because my previous one worked so well. Keep it.

Default Exhaust

BTW...If you go with true duals, you going to lose bottom end torque. Do either a 2-1 or 2-1-2. I was much more satisfied with V&H power duals than true duals. If your set on a 2-1 try a RB Racing Black Hole.

Bars factory 47, best out there in my opinion.

2 into 1, dragos bike works. Great exhaust, decent price, manfactured by Rush.

Windshields lot of opinions, i actually like the windsplitter from mother HD.
Have run windvest, klock werks, Cee Bailey and HD.

Most road glide owners have at least 2 in their garage.

Mastad is very popular, but its butt ugly. Those that have them swear they are the best.

Congrats on new ride and welcome to the shark tank
