Default Talk lift kit

I have seen bikes with the tank lift kit. I love the way it looks, and was thinking about lifting the tank on my 08 Electra glide. My question is what does it do for your gas consumption? By that I mean lifting the front of your tank up 1 1/2 or 2 inches what does that do as far as using the gas in your tank. Because of the tilt I you not use all of the gas in your tank effectively turning it into a smaller capacity tank? Maybe the other way around? Not much effect at all? Any thoughts or experiences?

Knocks your gauges and computer fuel readings off. You still use up nearly as much fuel as before. It does make your tank emblem look like it was installed at an angle. It also gives the bike that foreign bike look. Google something like Honda V65 and you will see what I mean. I did it to my Dyna. Liked it for a while and ended up back to normal. Just an opinion.

Love the look of being able to see the top of motor now. As far as throwing the fuel gauge off. Who cares. Its not by much. I know hiw many miles i get per tank anyways.
Free. 1.5 lift

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to go for it. One other thing I have to do is check my clearance on my bars. I put on 12" Yaffee Monkey bars and they swoop back at the bottom. I might have an issue with them hitting my tank. The way it sits now they come very close to hitting. I think i'll take my front mounts off and mock it up first

I'm not keen on seeing the top of the engine, however I have a modern 6 gallon tank on my older bike, converted for use with my carb. Lifting the front a little should improve what I can get out of my gas tap!

What have you used for your lift? Did you make them yourself?

I like the top of the motor exposed. Easier to clean and shine. Also lets more heat escape when sitting still. Also lets more air over top while moving. I felt a difference last time i rode.

I made them out of some gate hardware i had left over.

Last weekend a guy at a bar asked me "Why did you lift your tank?" I said. Is yours lifted. He said No. I said. Exactly....

Default Materials

I cut these pieces off. Bent them slightly. Mounted them. Used a paint marker to mark any excess material. Cut excess off. Modified bolt covers. Bam done. Ill paint them one day.

Been from Key West Fla to fort Kent Maine (every state on east coast) and many more states this year with front tank lift . Only thing that was a bit different...engine a little cooler. .2 less gas. PFFFT no big deal. I get comments all the time that the bike flows nice but they can't figure what it is. Lol. Just a lot mo motor showing. But I do make my own to flow exactly the angle I want.

Black bike has no lift...hardly tell
