Certainly the information is more useful than knowing the air temperature under my fairing.
I think you are right, BUT if I knew how to use that information that would be good. I had a 2010 streetglide and I bought the oil temp gauge you replace the with your oil dip stick with. well I live in Phoenix and needles to say in the morning it would always say cold , and on a hot summer day ( If it was not to hot for me to ride 105 or less ) it would always say HOT . Well when it is 100 + day what is to HOT????
I guess if you are moving it is ok but you have to figure it is an air cooled motor and if you are stuck in stop and go traffic and not moving just shut it off for a few minutes.

Ya have to be special and spend $500 for a Power Vision because apparently knowing the incoming air temp is far more important than oil temps. Silly people.

Hate to hijack this thread, but I did buy a PV for my last bike, and now have a new bike. Do I need to buy the right to use it on my new bike from Pv or will it work to show the info on the screen shown above?

Here's some ideas for gauge mounts. These pics have air pressure but could easily be temp instead.

Sandcrab, your PV will show those gauges on your new bike or any bike. You need the new license to apply a new map to your new bike.
