So CHP had the dealer install different cams than stock, nice.

I've heard of Police Departments asking to have Stage 1 upgrades to the stock FLHP' s

I'm trolling CycleTrader, ChopperExchange, and 30 or so dealer web sites. For some reason, most dealers don't list their FLHPs or FLHTPs, so they don't show up on any of those.

At least one dealer ~75 miles from here has three FLHTPs in stock, on the floor, that aren't listed anywhere, and when I called them they said they didn't have any. I just happened to drop by on a weekend ride and saw them.

My FLHP had Stage 1 and pipes installed. It helped having a captain who likes Harleys.

Clarify. You want a genuine "Police" bike, right? As opposed to a "Peace Officer" edition which is a different animal.

I never heard of an individual, non-leo, being able to order a specific LE style color combo. Not saying it doesn't happen, just never heard of anyone doing it.

A "Police" Road King should be substantially less expensive than a civilian RK. We used to be able to buy "leftovers" at the Florida Sheriff's Association bid price, which was about $14,500. Had a buddy that bought a new black one every two years.

I liked the pogo seat and on 2015 Road King the speedo was up between the bars and tach was on the tank.

It was a common myth that Police bikes had hotter cams etc from the factory. I knew my 07 had the stock cam, but was very pleased it had the 103 with oil cooler and the 6 speed tranny. I had an 06 FLHPI last year that had the 88 and 5 speed, what a difference a model year can make sometimes. I just bought this one and fortunately it was not too darn "civilianized" just had lots of ***** G skull stuff to remove, thankfully the stock police solo and air bladder spring seat was still on it.

At this point, I'm not sure Im asking for what I want.

I *think* I want the "genuine police bike." I'll probably get flamed for some of my reasons, but here they are:

ABS standard
Two-tone paint job, that's not the same as every other RK out there.
I've heard to pogo seats are the best
Already set up w/o rear pegs, and with a rack for a tour pak
cheaper - I'm a cheap bastard
Already has a button for a CB/microphone, just have to figure out the wire harness

I commute on my wide glide, and I've put 63K miles on it with a few longer trips - nothing like some of y'all ride, but I ride when I can.

I'm going to Alaska next summer with some friends, and I want a bigger shield and locking hard bags, and a tour pak/hard luggage. I'm tired of hauling every thing into every hotel room so it doesn't get stolen.

Plus, I want a new bike. Who doesn't?

I'm open to other opinions ....

A local dealer in Md has a left over '16 FLHP. Problem is it's solid black, like the op said, to me it looks like any other black RK on the planet. That's why I prefer the plain Birch White or Two tone Vivid Black and white, more recognizable. Only had this one a few days and it's coming along nicely being decivilianized...

Be careful displaying that tank logo.
