Put some different socks on tonight. Wanted to get rid of the chrome ones for some black Burlys, but I ended up scoring these from my local Harley dealer. Just some stock take offs. They are actually an inch shorter than the chrome ones that came on the bike at 11". Not quite the 10.5" Burlys that I wanted but oh well. Can't beat free! I also took my chain guard off.
Well I haven't been on the bike much lately or been doing much to it. But I got her started up and out to my farm on Christmas day. I've been needing a new rear tire and just happened to get an awesome Christmas gift, a gift card to the local Harley dealer so I can het one. Got the tire ordered and got my wheel off today so I can get it in to get it mounted and balanced. While I'm at it I'm really wanting to chop my rear fender and then repaint all my tins. Trying to decide how I wanna cut the fender has been kind of hard. I don't want it to be like all the nightsters, I want to do something different. Something shorter and more bobber like. Possibly going to cut the fender struts down too. I've heard of people rolling the fender forward and then cutting the front off the fender rather than the rear... Would love some info on that if anyone has some. Just gotta take my time and make it how I want it and like it.... I guess that's all for now. Hopefully everyone had a merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone!
I also painted a tank for a buddy of mine today. Not really my style, but it's what he wanted.
Well I bit the bullet and started cutting. After a handful of cuts I finally got where I liked it. I wanted it shorter but with my factory style seat i couldn't really go much shorter. I think it looks alright tho. Just need to get all the holes welded up and smoothed then some paint.
welcome to the bobbed club lol hey mind me asking where you got your seat? i like that red cross stitch... and is it more comfortable than the stock seat?

Haha thanks! Bobbed looks so much better than stock. As for the seat, it's actually a stock seat that I cut the foam down on and had recovered. I think it's more comfortable than stock, even tho it's still a "stock" seat. There's so much foam on the stock seat and it's so hard that a lot of it , in my opinion, is unneeded. It sets me back on the bike a little bit too and makes the bike seem longer. I really like it.
Well guys, I haven't posted on here for a while, but I have been busy. I got the fender all patched in, body worked, and a fresh black paint job on it. I also relocated the tag to the left side passenger peg mount. The rear turn signals are now Run/Brake/Turn signals thanks to Harleys module. All in all, I think it turned out pretty good! I wanted to customize the paint job but didn't have the extra time or money..
I probably won't be posting on this thread anymore tho since I sold the bike and bought a Fatboy Lo. I'm a big guy and the sportster is just too small of a bike for me. Still have love for sportsters and just might have a other in the future.
