Both are great bikes. I agree on the nostalgia look which the Heritage just ozz's. My dealer puts a 58 FLH that has been restored to perfection at Christmas time. They had a new Heritage of the same color scheme besides it. You could see the history and resemblance between the two.

I was fortunate not to have to decide between them and have both. For me the Heritage is a smoother more comfortable ride.

The RK with spokes, whitewalls and fishtails speaks to many also. And it is the "King".

OP: You have a tough decision. But I don't think you can go wrong.

I know I will get a lot of different opinions on this but that's what I was hoping for so let it rip!
I should add that I don't take long trips anymore more just bar hop, short rides is my style of riding and I don't ride two up anymore!

thanks

Just adding my two cent. I bought last year and got a Road King, after I bought it, everyone was telling me how great handling a bike it was. Reality, it is a stable as one could ask, I run on the highway at 80ish no problem, ran over a small deer or big dog carcass on a country road and it kept going straight (thank god) I drag the floor boards all the time, just for fun. The bike does everything I could ask.
But, I think you know this, because your on a SG, do you like its handling? I imagine the RK handles better than the SG just due to less weight up front. I like the suggestion of test driving both to help make the decision.

On an other note: Girl bike? How about a bike that fits smaller or larger people, as example I am all crunched up on a sportster, and might be to short to run highway pegs on the RK, fit is really important. Name calling leads to people ignoring the right fit, not cool.

I have really enjoyed my SG I think it is a great bike! I have made it my own and have added things that really make it my personal look! Like I have said I have had it now for several years and I'm up for a change. The two bikes in question are great looking bikes and now I want something different without the fairing. Along with that the idea of doing some things that make it my own also appeals to me as you have seen from some of the pics! I think it's fun to have a project of sorts it's one of those pride in ownership deals!

I like the Deluxe and never liked the studding on the Heritage. That and you get the tombstone tail light but you could buy one of those and a different seat and save some cash and have the bags and windshield if you wanted them. The Road King is a great bike and I'd go there if you want hard bags.

The Heritage is cheaper than the Deluxe and a lot cheaper than the Road King.

If different bags and windshield are what you want, you can still go with the Heritage.
