I have 6,900 miles on mine and since I ride all winter it is still piling up.
It is a RGS with stage I. Not a single issue. It just keeps running better and better. Originally the 850 idle wandered and was weak when releasing the clutch but learned simply to add a touch more throttle. The job of idling a tight new engine and spinning a counter balancer was troublesome for it. But fully disappeared with miles.
I found that in cold weather it is best to cover the oil cooler as the engine didn't warm up enough for the RMC to cut off the enrichener so mileage dropped from 52 to the mid 40's. Once covered the mpg went back to 52. The temps were in the teens to 30's.
Mine feels exactly like my other Road Glides as they are 110's and the Rushmore's feel close to the M8 in ride and handling. "Feels like a metric" my ***.
did you not do the SE Street Tuner Stage 1? if you did your idle should be 950..just curious..also, I have the fan assisted oil cooler and have been riding in cold weather and the fan kicks on every time so it's getting up to temps no prob
MJ: Yes it had the tuner however it idled at 850 and didn't like it. It now is at about 950 since it loosened up.
I have the same problem with the XR1200 and the Ulysses XB as the M8 in winter. All three have oil coolers and have the oil divided by the engine oil and supply to the cooler. There is a thermostat on the line that feeds the cooler.
On the TC's the oil goes to the cooler then filter then engine. Never had an issue in winter with the TC's.
However mine just does not reach full temp and they all respond by running too rich. As soon as I cover the cooler the mpg jumps. Most of my winter riding is in the teens and twenties. A few like today are in the 30's.
Only 650 miles. Bike runs great. Only issue is there is a film/streaks on the inside of my speedometer glass...most likely from dried condensation. I will see if it is fixable under warranty.
Selling mine. Have 1600 miles on it. Had the stage III done at 1400 miles. Have a buyer picking it up this week. While it's a nice bike it's just not a Harley to me. Some type of jap bike with Harley decal on the tank......LOL...Hope you guys continue to enjoy your fake Harley's...aahahahahahahahahha

love riding, listening to and looking at mine more and more each day. as much as we ride long distances there's no way I'd want to do that on a 30 year old Maytag on wheels! It's still every bit a Harley..and while a 63 Split Window Vette is one of my favorite cars of all time, I'd rather drive a 2017 Z06
