Because two fills up the space in the garage better than one. The wife prefers the rides on the RGU and while I really like that bike I have had WGs for 20 years and this 08 was one of my Fav so it stays
Two didn't feel right, but 3 works just fine for me. Have a few other non Harleys, too. Cruise, sport, trail, scoot, sidecar... all different rides, all fun rides. All cheap used ones, too, all 9 of my bikes cost less than one high end Harley. I'm retired, need an excuse to get outside. Got the sidecar rig (Ural, cheaper than just a sidecar for a Harley) for my grandson, worth every cent just for that.
17 CVO Street glide is for touring, put 10K on it in four months. It replaced the 15 CVO Road Glide Ultra that had 44K on it.
13 CVO Road king is my hot rod, I use it for local rides mostly, but will ride it to Daytona for bike week. Its 138 HP and 140 torque, a blast to ride.
03 Fatboy, is very custom, and a 1 of 200 paint set. Its my ride to bike shows and bike nights bike.
My wife has two bikes.
17 Road Glide Special, her touring bike, 7500 miles it in 4 months. It replaced her 15 Road glide special that had 46K on it.
09 Herritage, her favorite bike. Rides it lots locally.
Need? Need has nothing to do with it. The desire to want and have is operant condition.
Yep. I'm on the same page. I don't even "need" one. Nor do I need some of my other toys. Enjoying life is about doing what you "want" to do. If you have positioned yourself well enough, and it's something you enjoy, why impose a limit?
I told my boys they will most likely inherit my material things too. Which is a heluva lot more than I inherited!
If you have to ask .............
The 2002 Fat Boy is my first H-D and the baby. Bought it new. The 2001 RK is a recent pickup. Nice to have a spare bike or something with a windshield for longer rides or cooler weather riding.
Wife has her own Deluxe. If she wants a second bike she's on her own to get it, I bought her first one for her.
I have the ultra which is a really fun bike and powerful but still heavy. I have been wanting a smaller one just for me so that I can "play". Wife continually tells me no. So I have decided to end that battle. I am no longer fighting for second bike. I decided in 3 years when the truck and bike are free and clear that my mid life crisis is going to be a convertible Camaro SS. Wife gave that an immediate thumbs up.
