Default Road 6 Naked Apes for Road Glide?

Would like to get rid of the suck a** factory bars on my 16 Road Glide Special. Considering 13" Road 6 Naked Apes or 14" Factory 47 bars. Both of these bars work with factory wires and lines. I have not heard if the bushings need replaced with stiffer bushings?

If the bike is new and low miles enough I don't see a reason to replace them unless you hit 16" or more.

I have 12" Factory 47 signature bars and I just put 13" Road 6 bars on my wife's cousins bike. His has 177 Mile's on it. No reason to change them. My bike had 10k when I did mine. Firm as day 1.

Those Road 6 bars are great and an easy installation. 7nder an hour and a half start to finish. F47 are easy too. Just easier to pull the wires on the R6 bars.

I went with 12" reapers and changed the bushings. The bars are about 5 lbs heavier and I felt a noticable different is the feel of the bars with the new bushings.

Only took 10 minutes and cost $25

I have had both sets on my '16 RGU. Started with the Road 6 and now have the 14" Factory 47's. Fit and finish on the Factory 47's are by far better. I did not replace the bushings either time. I only have 5k on my bike now.

RFG, thanks. Since you've had a chance to work with both Factory 47 and Road 6 could compare how the two bars feel? Are the Road6 as good as quality as the Factory 47?

Ease of installation goes to Road 6. Smooth bends make the difference.

As far as quality. We're kind of comparing apples to oranges.

Factory 47 is a mitered welded Bar and mine are chrome.
Road 6 are classic bends smooth. Black powder coated.

I would have not one regret putting the Road 6 bars on my bike if that was the style I was going for. And at less than half the cost of the Factory 47 bars? It's an easy choice.

Like the Factory 47 bars. The road 6 are made to just bolt up. All holes line up and it's a cakewalk installing them. They're built right. And look great.

I'm a chrome ***** and could afford the F47 bars. . He's on a budget. He's just as happy with his as I am mine. Out of the 2. It comes down to what you want to pay. Either choice is a good one.

Road 6. 13"

F47 12"

Thanks. The Lowers are HD. Ordered them the day I bought the bike. 20% off. And it was a must have if I didn't get an ultra. Told the wife (who hates the RGU) I'd get the special but only if I ordered the lowers that day.

I just realized the bars you're talking about (road 6) are mitered.

I can't speak to their quality.

The road 6 custom bars are of great quality. Easy installation. There are caps that remove at each corner. I love mine. I have tge 11". My buddy liked mine so much he got the 13".

How does the width of the Road 6 bars compare to F47? Seems they're a bit narrower.
