Default Where to mount the Fp3

I have tried under the side cover, sorta works if you slam it shut. Now I have it attached to the rear brake line. Any other suggestions? Pictures are a big help.

FWIW Because of vibrations and chaffing, I wouldn't leave it tied to a brake line.

You'll find a spot to "tuck" it in somewhere. There are many with this part.
You could even make a custom bracket if all else fails.

Good luck.

On my 2014 XL1200c - No slamming needed to shut-just a firm push.

Looks like a difference between the 2013 and 2014. I tried to mount it above the main fuse. The front side cover wouldn't latch.

Only have put 100 miles on it with autotune. Will be glad when it warms up outside.

If I remember correctly once you have tuned the map to your liking, flash it so the ecm knows which map to use, then you can disconnect it and it should be fine.

I have a 2009 883c and just slid the fp3 on top of the battery, it's shielded so it won't cause any problem. I also have a 2014 Sportster 1200c and it's way tighter, still hunting on it for a good spot.

The 2014 and up bikes have a gap behind the ECM that the F3 will slot into. A completely different layout to the 2013 and earlier bikes.

Glad you found a place under the cover.

As a flash tuner you can remove it but it does have some features that makes it a useful tool to leave connected.
