I am a fan of Memphis Shades and like the versatility. The quick disconnect system for their windshields is the same as for their fairings, which gives you the option of three possible configurations. (nothing, windshield, batwing). Memphis Shades offers a variety of sizes, shapes, and colors of windshields. Since the Road King Special is so new, it probably would be smart to give them a call instead of just relying on website information.
They are a forum sponsor and have a rep that participates in this forum.
I also think the dark smoked Road King CVO windshield would look great on it, but am unsure of the fitment.
It's a shame they don't include a quick detach windshield, since it is a touring bike.
I would look into seeing if a CVO king speed screen would fit on there for now. The bike is brand spanking New so just give it a few months and I'm sure your gonna see better options out there. I wouldn't settle for the sake of just having something right only to hundreds of $$$ more later when the good stuff hits the market
First, congrats!! That bike is growing more and more on me. Of course there are some negatives, no windshield being one of them, but it is one incredible looking bike for sure!!
The CVO screen fits the 2017 Road King, so I would be shocked if it didn't fit the Special. Would be helpful if the HD site would update the bike builder for the Special.
I went to a Long Ride Shields recurve 1 1/2" lower than the stocker. Works great, but you'd need to buy the mounting hardware seeing as yours doesn't have one on it already.
Coming out of the grocery story yesterday, a guy was walking by my bike with a puzzled look on his face. Sees me coming up and asks "Is that the new roadking special?" I said yeah, it was the prototype. Harley messed up the production model by blackening them out up front. LOL.
