Only Harley can sell a touring bike without a windshield for more than the regular model (that has one) and have a guy feel lucky when he finds one to put on it.
For all of you that think HD is on the ropes; trump that!

100% right I'd be willing to bet this is the route harley will be going with the majority of its models same thing Jeep does with the wrangler and cherokee line, just a bunch of different packages.
But this package has everything I wanted. For the most part coming standard so it was worth the extra 2k in my book .

Gorilla we actually only paid $1860 bucks more than the standard Road King. The extended bags would nearly cover that, the wheels would eclipse that by a good margin, then street Glide rear fender and seat, the powder coat, etc. So the Road King Special works for our tastes and plans to make it ours. Harley just offered a shortcut. The standard King is there for the guys that like Chrome and fat seats with more of the traditional look. I obviously felt it was worth it. Hell I can't justify any of the changes I made to my Road Glide. Now watch the MOCO release a CVO Road Glide Custom!

Yep, windshields aren't free. There are quite a few windshield options to choose from too. IMHO its probably beneficial to the customer to let him choose and pay for the one he likes best. I swear I've got half a stock Breakout in boxes in my garage, owing to mods and replacements I've chosen.
Thats 1 sharp looking bike!!! If they dropped this model 2 years ago there's no question in my mind it would be sitting in the garage right now. I love how it drives the grandpa's crazy!!! Where's the windshield!?!? Where's the chrome!?!? Well back in my day...... yada yada yada
