100% right I'd be willing to bet this is the route harley will be going with the majority of its models same thing Jeep does with the wrangler and cherokee line, just a bunch of different packages.
But this package has everything I wanted. For the most part coming standard so it was worth the extra 2k in my book .
Personally I think they got it 100% right with this type of styling, they need to get the younger generation interested & this is the way to go, this bike will be a big seller & if I hadn't already bought the standard '17 I'd be all over it.

I think you may be right..I love it too..and although spendy for the younger generation, it is very appealing and cool and not a full blown Touring bike..most of the rallies we go to are predominantly middle age and up riders so this fills the gap between cruiser and touring nicely..HD has been very creative this decade
I think they got the style right on this one except the bars could have been 2" taller from the factory.
If this model was available when I bought my 2014, this would have been my choice. Have had the SG back end in mind since the purchase. finally have all the pieces and this weekend transform to the new design and already run a solo.
Best bike in the lineup (in my opinion) and capable of mild to wild mods. Or stock and run the hell outta it
I would like to point out that the Road King Special comes standard with ABS and security. On a regular Road King, they don't but are available as options for an extra $795 for abs and $395 for security. So the real difference in price isn't as much as what it at first appears to be.
I love the charcoal denim on this bike! My last bike was a road king and this new version had more of street glide kind of fit to it.
I just got to test ride the one at my local dealership - short ride (it's only about 35 deg here right now) but wow it sure was fun! If I had seen one of these back in November I would've had a hard time deciding.
