Hey guys,
I'm working on my first bike which is a 2016 Sportster 48. I just bought new exhaust from Sikpipes.com and uninstalled my stock pipes and installed the new ones without much difficulty but my bike won't start ? In between the swap my brother started the bike without any exhaust on for no longer than 2 seconds and then turned it off. After I put everything back together I try to start it but it cranked once and now it makes a noise as if I'm having battery problems. I checked the battery and it's good, currently charging it just in case but I'm hoping someone here would know what my problem might be before I get back to working on it tomorrow. Really appreciate any feedback from you guys
Some will laugh at me but this is why I don't work on my bike. Back in the 70s...sure. I did it all. Bug they weren't computerized back then. Now, they're too damn complicated for my lack of knowledge.
How did you check your battery. Checking voltage will tell you nothing really. You need to do a load test. But a good start would be fully charging it on a battery tender. Then trying to start it.
I don't know much about your bike, but did it have O2 sensors in the factory pipes? Did you connect the O2 sensors after you installed new pipes? You'll need those to start and run the bike.
