Default Fat Bob with Low Rider rear fender

Hey guys,

Long time member but don't really post much. Mostly read and learn. This is one of the best forums I've been on in all the motorsports I've been involved in and figured it's time I contributed.

I really, really like my Fat Bob but the bobtail fender just didn't sit right with me and while the Wide Glide fender is a decent option I just wasn't liking the shortness of it. Then the Low Rider fender catches my eye and while I know it's a bit narrow for the Fat Bob struts I can over look the space difference because now when I look at my bike either before a ride or after I smile like a fat kid in a candy store.

In doing the conversion I changed the rear light to the Speed-Kings LED with integrated signals and added Custom Dynamics front signals along with their load equalizer. Overall I'm stoked how it turned out and other than wanting further forward mid controls my bike is a great fit and looks way killer( to me anyway)

When I had my fat bob I thought about taking a superglide fender and cutting it down the middle and widening it to fit the struts better. But alas got rid of the bike before I came across a fender for a good price. Looks good stock on your bike though man. Way to think outside the box

Looks really good, can you post some picks looking down from above. Did you touch the rear fender struts at all or they original length?

From behind and a bit up above the fender. I made spacers from PVC conduit pipe and painted them with John Deere "Blitz black" spray paint. Super close to factory denim. I know most people are worried about filling up the space between the struts but it doesn't bother me.

cutting the conduit into spacers. I'll have a look and see if I can find a pic of the size conduit I bought.

Sorry man, no pics of the conduit pipe but here's the spacers cut. I do remember I used 1/2" schedule 40 PVC electrical conduit.

With the addition of further forward controls you will have built what I consider a very highly desirable Dyna. When I was looking at bikes in 2013 I loved the ride of the FatBob but couldn't get past the look of the rear fender and didn't like riding with forward controls. Yours is the answer.

If you are considering bags a look at Bad &G saddlebags. They are leather and mount with straps around the strut. I won't add them because they will mar the paint on the fender but that won't happen with yours.

Enjoy your unique ride!
