Pic heavy review: Powermadd's hand guards from forbidden risers
first off Jim with forbidden risers was cool. I have been pestering him monthly on these and excited to get a hold of the first produced sets
so I installed these and it took about 30 minutes. The kit came with 2 options. Putting a rubber hose that expands inside your handle bar and the other is a metal sleeve that expands. I opted for the metal sleeve
my throttle side was the first guard so as in all my installs I messed up and cut to much rubber from the grip before inserting the sleeve. So in the pictures you can see a gap where as on the clutch side the brackets fit and finish us much better
I did have to cut the nubs off the levers in order for everything to fit but I'm all good with that as I have thought about doing it before
the direction from power madd say to drill your hand guard with a 1/4" hole so you can bolt the hand guard to the mount. I opted not to do this yet and am trying a strong construction adhesive in order to have a nice and smooth front guard
Lastley the 2 supplied flat brackets just bolt to your mirror stalks. The longer of the 2 brackets goes on your clutch side as you can see in picture #6
all in all I am happy with these. Always wanted a set of them as 4am san diego weather is very brisk going into work.
Also did you get any info on price once they are available for sale? I checked the site and it is still under construction
