Default New memeber with turn signal ?

Hi yall , new to this forum. Recently picked up a 2008 nighy train. My first harley and i love it. Im used to riding rice rockets and allthough harleys dont have the speed they are awsome best thing i did was sell my r1 to get the train. Seller gave me some LED front turn signals he tryed to install but the left signal stays on without blinking at all times. I messed with it a few hours ago with same problem. The right works as it should but left stays illuminated. Why is this ?

Have you tried swapping sides? i.e. the one that stays lit on the left, plugged into the right?

If so, you may just need a load balancer? Although, usually it's a fast blink, I think?

If the behavior follows the LED unit... It's the unit.

Some LED signals are polarity sensitive. May need to try switching the wires.

Yes i tried swapping the LEDs and problem stays on the right side. The stock bulbs do blink fast.

Forget about the LED signals for a minute...

First determine that the motorcycles turn signal and running light circuits are working properly.

The front turn signals are also running lamps, they use a dual filament bulb.

Whenever the ignition switch is on, the front signals should both be illuminated.

So when you get out your voltmeter and start reading voltage at the wires, you should see system voltage at the wires for the running lights, and when you check the voltage at the wires for the turn signal filament, you will see on and off voltage.

Once you know that the turn signal and running light circuits are working properly, you can connect the LED bulbs and see what is going on.

EDIT: Just read your latest post,

The stock bulbs blink fast, is that with 4 (new) OEM type bulbs installed?
Blink fast on both sides?
What about the front running lights?

What Mother said...... had to do this on mine. Easy fix and easy test to see if this is the problem...... just need a 12 volt circuit tester/test light.

That is of course assuming your lights work proper with the intended incandescent bulbs in there.

Thanks, buddy.

Aftermarket LED replacement bulbs or LED signal clusters are NOT all polarity sensitive. It varies from one manufacturer to the next.

Bad load equalizer.
Try normal bulbs front and rear, then change one, test, then the next (same SIDE), check, move to other side repeat.
