Default Still on the road at 69

Will turn 70 later this year and still ride two Dynas: A 2009 Super Glide that hit 100,000 miles on Nov. 11 2012 and a 2012 Switchback purchased to replace the FXD after I had an encounter with a black steer on U.S. 221 near the base of Bent Mountain not far from Roanoke in Southwestern Virginia on Nov. 12, 2012.

As it turned out, I didn't really need to replace the Super Glide because the bike was not totalled by the insurance folks for damage but because of high mileage on a three-year model. It in storage with Dairyland when I got out of the hospital in December of 2012 and sat under a tarp until the cow owner's liability insurance company settled (which took nearly two years) so I kept the bike, it is back on the road with minimal repairs and now has a little over 130K on the odometer.

The Switchback goes into the dealer next week for its 30K service. Has taken a while to get back up to speed after two months in the hospital, followed by two years in rehab.

I must be a jinx on Dyna models. The Super Glide was discontinued by HD a year after I purchased it in 2009 and the Switchback was dropped by H-D for 2017. The Super Glide engine has not been touched and still does not burn oil. It and the Switchback always get oil changes at 2,500 miles and I alternate riding the bikes. Hope to keep riding for as long as I'm upright.

2009 Super Glide in 2016 with 127,314 miles on (then) it during a stop on the Rocky **** overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Southwestern Virginia with Buffalo Mountain in the background.

Default Finally got my bike - better late than never!

Finally, at 56 I got over the job loss and bankruptcy. Finally got the kids outa the house. Finally got a house with a garage. I've ridden all kinds of bikes my whole life, but never had my own. Finally - just yesterday - got my own 2012 FXDC! I stared in envy for years at HD riders, knowing the thrill I was missing, but no more! I got this garage-kept beauty for 8K with less the 6700 miles on it and a few choice upgrades (V&H Shortshots, forward controls and a quick detach windshield). I'm soooooo ready for the summer.

66. 67 in September. Started riding in '82. Only on my third bike, and I've still got my second one. Figure I've got another 10 to 15 years in me.
Bottom picture is of me on last year's Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in Orlando astride my '86 Sportster. Had her since '87. She's been through a few changes over the years but stock mechanically . . .

Default old guy

62 yrs, riding a '11 FatBob. I live on an rough, rocky dirt road and can't imagine horsing a 800lb Road Glide up and down it. I've made 3 trips to Sturgis, one on the Bob and 2 on my Sportster. It's not unusual for my friends and I to ride 200 mile for lunch and then return home.
I believe there's a lot of truth to the adage "Age is a state of mind"

Age is just a number! I have seen people younger than me in worse shape and also older in great shape. 57 years old and living life to the fullest. Love to ride and do every chance I get.
