I am trying to take it apart to install a rubber boot. I have the back off and trying to use a paper clip on the front of each pin location to remove the wires but no joy. Any suggestions? This is on a 2009 FLHTCU.
In case you did not realize it that white part is a secondary lock. You can't remove the pins with it in place. You need to pull it out a 1/8" or so to unlock it. After that a safety pin or some such pointed object will pop the pins loose.
Now that you have it apart take a real good look for future reference.
I see what you mean. I was able to get the secondary lock to move out 1/8" or so and then proceeded to gently remove it entirely since I didn't know how it worked. Removing the secondary lock caused me to have to turn each pin a 1/4 turn to easily remove them. I will reinstall the secondary lock so the pins can be reinserted the correct way and much easier I am sure. Thanks!
old thread I know..but I need to depin this plug and ssgunny has been on line recently so hopefully he can shed some light.
hard to tell from the pics how to get the rear lock and the white front lock disengaged any help will be appreciated.
