I've always wanted to do the same thing, but I'm not sure if my OCD could handle the spacing. Looks way better than the wideglide fender though, I really think the full fender looks best.
Update on my bike, the stator gave up the ghost so in planning to open up the primary to replace it I searched out some used mid-controls and converted the controls. Ideally I was trying to find further forward mids from a '14 and up Low rider but none to be had in Western Canada. Still though, the switch to mids made a huge improvement in control and handling, just need the further forward mids to get my feet and legs in a more comfortable position for my size. So now I consider that the Fat Bob should only come from the Motor Co with a full rear fender and mid controls standard.
Annnnd, I scored a set of further forward mid controls from a low rider S and Antonio ***** was right. This is the best configuration for handling on the dyna chassis yet. It makes such an improvement in control it isn't even funny.
Plus a gratuitous picture of the brake side. I'm also lovin the TBR Comp S 2-1 pipe. Just had to add a small bit of exhaust wrap to stop me from melting my boot heel on the pipe.
Long time member but don't really post much. Mostly read and learn. This is one of the best forums I've been on in all the motorsports I've been involved in and figured it's time I contributed.
I really, really like my Fat Bob but the bobtail fender just didn't sit right with me and while the Wide Glide fender is a decent option I just wasn't liking the shortness of it. Then the Low Rider fender catches my eye and while I know it's a bit narrow for the Fat Bob struts I can over look the space difference because now when I look at my bike either before a ride or after I smile like a fat kid in a candy store.
In doing the conversion I changed the rear light to the Speed-Kings LED with integrated signals and added Custom Dynamics front signals along with their load equalizer. Overall I'm stoked how it turned out and other than wanting further forward mid controls my bike is a great fit and looks way killer( to me anyway)
May i know which year is does the low rider rear fender belongs to

Wow, this ones an old thread i started back in the day of transforming my FatBob. I had a look back at my paperwork on the rear fender and its is Harley part# 59634-06A that comes primed only.
Since I was typing this reply I figured why not update it with what I did last year. Dumped the heavy, bulky stock rims and went to Harley slotted six spoke rims. 19 X 2.5 front and 17 X 4.5 rear. Coated burnt bronze. Handles even better now. Less heavy inertia spinning around. Plus a couple small detail things, tank badge replaced with FXDX style decal and detachable sissy bar for cargo on road trips n rallys.
