Default Twin Cam A motor in a TCB frame

Can I put a TCA motor from a 2003 Road King in an aftermarket FXR frame?

More information: I have a 2002 custom made wide tire FXR rubber-mounted frame. My friend wrecked his 2003 Road King and bent the frame. So, I would like to use the TC88 motor, transmission, and the wiring harness. Anyone have advice about this swap? Thanks!

I have seen an FXR with a TC engine in it and spoke to the guy for awhile about it. It has been done multiple times and wasn't as difficult as I would have imagined it to be.

The front, rear and top motor mounts are same location on the 2003 bagger drive train (motor, trannie, primary) so you can swap the hole drivetrain.. Depending on how the side stand and rear cross brace are placed you might have to move them. I used a Santee EVO FXR frame and dropped in a 2003 RK tranny and SnS / Rev Perf 131 ci motor. I has to lower the rear cross brace but the side stand mount cleared.

I should also add a buddy put a early TC motor (pre 07) in a stock FXR that had a blown motor. You have to use TC ignition / coil plus some wiring to make it work in both cases.

Read that wrong my bad, touring motor shouldn't be too bad if your running a twin cam now it'll be direct swap if your running an evo you'll need the mounting brackets to adapt it is imagine

. Thought it said softail for some reason, I shouldn't internet while tired..

It's definitely one of my faves here too. It must be a blast to ride! The FXR frame somehow looks pretty exotic in your build... It almost reminds me of something built by Spondon...

Super cool bike.
