I don't think anyone offers a 5 3/4 reflector. Truck-lite makes a 7 inch reflector. Harley offers one and so does Kuryakyn. The Truck-lite sits out from the factory trim ring by half an inch or so, at least on the touring bikes. Guys use a Frenched style trim ring to cover it up. The new Road Glides all come factory with dual reflector headlight.

Another point is the color temperature of the LED, being closer to daylight, may not show up as well in the daytime.

Here's an example. The other day I was surprised by a new Cadillac backing up. Usually, I can see if the backup lamps were lit. These, being LED lamps, looked just like sunlight on the reflectors. I couldn't tell the backup lamps were on at all.

Both. All I know is people seem to get highly aggravated when I'm behind them so they must be seeing something.

I just used a HD regular stock glass headlight and added the Opt7 led bulb.

SIGNIFICANTLY better visibility in the daylight. I was not impressed with the projector style headlights during the day on my buddies rides.

Looking at my motor's reflection on the back of vehicles stopped at red lights, when the Daymaker is on LOW beam, the relative brightness of the flipped auxiliary LED bulbs is noticeable.

Going to HIGH beam on the LED Daymaker makes the light intensity about the same as the LED auxiliaries.

Nobody seems to have a problem.

Default Daytime

I took 2 pictures of the LED projector headlight (5 3/4") on my Softail. I'm roughly 20 feet out in front of the bike. Bright sunlight. Then I move roughly 12 feet over. Both pictures taken from the same height as the headlight to try and simulate someone in the driver's seat of a sedan's view. And a video for good measure too.

I saw some bike in the day time with some sort of triangle of super-bright LED driving lights - holy hell it was bright despite it being a sunny day. I couldn't really see what type of bike it was from all the glare

probably something like this

FWIW, some time last year a forum member did comparison tests of LED (don't know what kind) headlight versus halogen during the day at an angle that would simulate car stopped at cross street. The results were not good for the LED headlight.....basically it looked off.

Most LEDs can be seen during the day, except the Truck Lite on low beam.

Thanks everyone. For some reason the search feature on these forums just suck they search for every word. You ask a question like this and the bottom of the page is more like what I was searching for.

I asked this same question on 2 other forums think I have may answer now.

Like a few wrote it might be it's not if they see us more so they just don't give a **** and figure we'll hit the brakes or crash.
Where I live it's those ****en cell phones and until they are outlawed in cars while driving we are going to continue to have unnecessary accidents. Doesn't make any difference how bright the light is if they are looking down in there lap at their cell phone or sending a text.
