Angry 03 Road King Oil leak

Hello All,

New guy here. I have a 03 Road Kind 100th anniversary. I have a oil leak going on. It is coming for the bolt to the left of the drain plug on the primary. I just changed the primary gasket this weekend in hopes that it would fix the issue. Rode it to work today and come out to a small oil spot yet again. I am clueless on what it might be. Wanted to try and get someone else take on it before I take it some where.

Thanks, Jason

Just a guess, but maybe coming from behind the primary?
Mine was the shifter shaft seal. I took mine apart and replaced all the oil seals. Re-siliconed the bolts and around the stater....oil leak free!

Thank you. Looks like I might have too pull the primary back off and try this.

Look behind the primary by the rear shifter arm. If you see gunk and grime like in the pic, then it is most likely the shifter shaft seal. This is mine the other day prior to changing the seal.

Other things to consider is that if it is coming from where you said it was, perhaps the primary cover is warped, or the drain plug was over tightened too far and caused issues.

First verify where the leak is.
You can do this by cleaning off the suspect area and spraying the area with aerosol foot powder then running the bike.
