Looking at buying a used Fat Bob. Need Advice

Alright so I just sold my ducati and I'm itching for a big twin. I have had 2 harley's in the past but both were sportsters. I originally wanted a street glide but I may ride 100 miles in a month so it's impractical and a lot to spend for something that won't be getting too much use. Recently i've really come to like the fat bob. There is a local one that is listed for 7.5k that has 11k miles. Only thing is no service history. This usually worries me but if I could get it for 6k is it worth it and just change all the fluids immediately? Any advice when buying one of these used?

You didn't say what year it is. There were some issues with the 06 Dynas, but even then if you could get it for 6 grand that would be a decent deal. The only services it would have with that mileage would be the 1000 and 5000. If a dealer did the servicing it would be in the national dealer database. If not, I would just do the 5000. And if the tires are original they should be replaced, depending on how old the bike is.

If you have the vin call the dealer they will give you the history...the dealer history anyway.

It's a 2011. I'm assuming it has original rubber and that's why I was going to throw out 6k. With new rubber, a dealer service and stage 1 I could probably be in it for around 9. Here is the link.

Offer 6.5 and have the owner take it to a dealer and you pay for a pre-purchase inspection. Make you decision based on the outcome of the inspection.

Looks like a good deal. You will need tires, the stock ones really suck anyway . Avon cobras on mine now, they're great, as tony the tiger said. Talk him down all you can, change all fluids, new tires and go. Pipes, ac and tuner after tires.
