Yeah, it does look a bit unfinished in the pic....but when I am sitting on it, and have a view of that big ole chrome headlight bucket in front of me, and the wind in my face, it is a much more visceral experience than riding behind the windshield.

Unfinished is a better way to put it. My wife rode her Heritage with windshield 430 miles today right along with me on the Street Glide. She loved it,
her longest single day yet.

I sometimes feel like replacing/upgrading my Road King windshield was a waste of $. I barely ever use it.

Took it off my 1200C, too. Nice in rain and when there's still snow on the ground, but on a day like today, 80+ and high humidity, my mesh jacket would be a personal sauna behind a windshield. Still is, at stoplights. Today's ride, I took some farmland detours to avoid those. Saw lots of bikes out today. Don't think I ever got much over 60, lotta cops cruising today, even one on a farm road with a 40mph limit. I was out for the breeze, not the speed, anyway, day like today, no hurry to get home.

Yeah, this time of year I like it better in the wind! Come winter and cold rain, I'll be back behind the windshield. lol

Kevin

Sometimes I gotta work on em instead of ride em.

I made a small tweak to the Sporty yesterday.

With the floorboards, I no longer need the 2" forward extensions.

Mary fixes me an apple and some strawberries to take to work each morning.

Here is what they look like upon arriving at the shop when I ride the Softail and put them in the saddlebag....

...here is what they look like upon arriving at the shop when I ride the Sportster and have them in a backpack strapped to the sissy bar. Some serious vibes happening on that sissy bar. lol

They taste good either way.

It was warm yesterday...like 95 actual and 105 heat index...when we headed up to Beale Street in Memphis.

We got there early...around 6pm.

After the sun went down, and it cooled off from 95 to 90, it got pretty crowded.

As usual, we had a great meal and fun watching the people and bikes go by.

Last nite was the first time I rode the Softail to Beale Street sans the windshield. It was pretty interesting that it got Far more folks gathering around it and talking about it than normal (like 10 times more folks) and the only difference was no windshield.

I really appreciated my small windshield after a 4,857 mile ride to MO and back in late June to early July.
80-90 mph across WY and NE really made it a bug collector.
