I usually ride with a Shoei Neotec Modular, but when its 90 degrees +, I'm looking for more air and want a 3/4. I looked around for a lid that would go nicely with my 2017 Road Glide Special in Velocity Red Sunglo and was coming up empty for the most part. And I didn't want a heavy lid, something light.
After some web searching I discovered Shoei makes a series called the "J.O" that's only marketed in Europe and Japan, but it had what I was looking for. Lightweight, flows a lot of air, has a drop down integrated shield, and Shoei quality. So I ordered one from Italy and it got here in a week, much quicker than I expected. Fit is great - superb actually. Quality is top notch, colors are right on the money with my bike. No, it doesn't have a DOT sticker on it, or a Snell rating, so there's that. Being a Shoei, however - its not like those cheap novelty helmets. Anyways - just another data point if you're looking for something different. Here's the place I ordered from if it interests you - lots of color choices.
That lid comes with a clear shield, and I ordered a tinted one with the helmet as well since I wanted it all to come in one box. Arrived via Fed Ex International Saver in 7 days. Total with the helmet, spare shield, and shipping was 347.85 Euros, and then convert to whatever the exchange rate is for the day.
It's a very low profile like a Bell helmet - but Shoei quality.
