I know this been beaten down but I did look and looking for full face helmet I come up with all kinds fo post? I want to check out the full face helmets and intrested in any comment on which FF does not look too big or is too heavy? I guess I will go to a Honda shop and try something on and get a comparison since I will be paying for tis thru the nose.
What/Where did you get your FF helmet and is it light enough for you not to wear down your neck? Myu HD helmet makes me look like I hve a 1/2 melon head haha. Thanks.
BTW I am definitely going to find a store to try on first as it is hard to buy from an online dealer sight unseen. But then good deals can be had online too!
Simpson Outlaw Bandit is killer looking, but I have heard it doesn't vent well.
A good lower cost helmet is the HJC CL-16, I have one now and it is a nice helmet and not too heavy. Not the greatest venting though. I'll be stepping up to a Shoei next year i think.
There are too many good options to list. What is the best option for me wont be the best option for you as our heads are shaped different. Go to a nice shop that carries multiple high end brands and let them school you on the different options. Then try them all on. Is the only way to get the best helmet. If its not comfy for you, you will never wear it. You will pay more for helmets made anywhere but japan, and more for high end materials making it lighter.
I wear Arai, because of my head shape and because I was told early on not to go cheap on your bucket. it's plenty light and very comfortable (for me). IMO, fit is the most important factor. if it fits right, you're not going to trip over the weight issue. If it doesn't fit, then you will feel the weight as the thing moves around on your head (too big) , or it's gonna hurt and cause headaches (too small).
The more you pay, the lighter the helmet's gonna be. Arais, for example, are not cheap. You have to get down to a store and try a bunch on.
+1 on the Arai. Expect to pay about $500.00 and up to own one.

I run a Simpson Bandit..best loooking lid on the planet imho..but it's definately not the best at anything else. If I get another helmet it'll be an Icon airframe. Rode one for a few days and it was awesome. Light, vented great, visor stays put in any position, looks decent. I've never liked the visor/chin profile on the Shoei or Arai stuff but thats just personal opinion. Both are great units from from what firends that run em say. And for what it's worth a guy I know just went down last week wearing a cheapo "vintage looking" fullface like the one above. The mouthpiece/guard area snapped clean off from a side hit on the pavement. dudes now sporting some space age materials in his jaw, nose and orbital socket. you only got one melon, keep it safe.
