hey all so I'm looking to add the V-Twin Manufacturing FXD Floorboard Kit to my 03 fxd but I want to know will I need to relocate my shift shaft? I currently have forward controls on the bike thanks
I didn't have to, I already had forward controls so just mounted the floorboards and away I went. 20-30 minutes tops...

Hello TailGunny,
I believe that You can get shifter shaft cover (HD #34640-93) and a primary shifter lever retainer bracket (HD #34639-01). I ordered mine from boardtracker Harley Davidson in Wisconsin for 21 dollars for both i believe.
I ordered the Harley footboard kit (HD #50500247) and the shift cover and bracket all together.

Think I have the "mini" version of yours I've had them on two different Wide Glides. The footboard on the exhaust side of my current Wide Glide is about to wear through the outside rear corner from dragging when cornering. The other side is close too. Though they are relatively new in the pic below. For a long time I would put skateboard grip tape on the rubber surface.
