The Street models sell about 10,000 units per year and the majority are US sales. That exceeds the volume per year the Victory or Buell sold. In its lifetime Victory sold 126,000 bikes. In its similar lifetime Buell sold about 138,000 units. They both were on the market for about 26 years.

I ride over 40K a year across this country and rarely see a Victory or Buell. So it is meaningless for a poster to assume that since they did not see a Street that it means there are not any.

Must not have seen me in 2015 on the 2K trip to Sturgis. Many thousands of other riders did. At stops some asked what bike is that.

My dealer sells about 6 new and used each year in rural Illinois. When I traded the 15 in on the 17 Street Rod they sold the trade in in a week's time.

The Street Rod is doing well in sales.

FunGramps Borrow your wife's hair drier, and go sit in your car, and point the hairdrier at passing cars that would be fun. If I ever do get to to retire I'm going to.

But, but, buuuuut...how about those last one or two cars which were moving-he passed close enough to the cage before his move to eat the back end of it if they put on the skids at the right time. How about that, huh? Just how about that? So whadya say about that?

You can go batshyt crazy on your bike and I don't care at all. It's your thing. My point, although kinda' lame...was that Harley used to show mostly cruising, kick-back style, and now shows what they probably deem attractive to youth... the cool guy weaving in and out of traffic and tailgating in an evident ploy to be the "hip" MoCo. It ain't gonna work though. I've already stated that just the trade name will keep the youth market at bay. Once in Montana, I was cruising at about 80mph on I-15, and a kid on a crotch rocket paced me on the frontage road beside the freeway, only his back tire on the pavement at 80 for about 1/4 mile. I gave him the thumb's up when he was finished.

For me, I see this commercial for what it is. A commercial. Not meant to represent reality, but to convey a feeling. HD presents the feeling of freedom, attitude, and speed.

I look at it the same way as all those car commercials that show spinning wheels burning rubber and drifting through the streets...

That being said, if a rider were riding on sidewalks - well, that is just stupid. I really did not have much of a problem with the weaving between cars. That rider seemed to have done it safely, and obviously had the skill and reflexes to do so. I could not ride like that though - my reflexes are just not that fast anymore.

Sanjuro

I remember an old SUV billboard add...don't remeber the make/model..but it showed the SUV driving across the roofs of all the cars stuck in freeway traffic in front of it. People would sit in the traffic and stare at it and drool.

Cool video. I loved that they felt complelled to include the disclaimer “Boeing test pilots. Do not attempt.”

I’ll keep that in mind when I’m taking out my Boeing 737 for a spin. As soon as I remembered where I parked it.
