I used a lowering kit to lower my 2004 ultra classic. When I hit any significant bump I felt a rub. After getting it checked I was told that I would have to take the lowering kit off because it was rubbing the wiring harness inside the fender. Is there anyway to lower that rear end without damaging the wiring harness? LOVED it lower, the look and the comfort. Note, I also have street glide shocks on it.
Too low. But you know that now. What kit did you use? I only lowered a total of one inch. No problems at all with that, but I ride solo 100%. I used a LA choppers kit. Big beefy blocks of very good quality. They maintain the stock shock angle, which is critical. Most kits do not. The shorter shocks combined with your kit have created the problem. Something has to give. Welcome to the forum.
I've posted this link so many times they should be payin' me a royalty. LOL
I also had street glide shocks and had then lowered an additional 3/4" (1 1/2" total lowered). Best way to lower an air shock Harley and keep a decent, safe ride and quality.
