I really like that silver pinstripe you added on the tins...helps the blue and chrome pop
Agreed, but of course I'm slightly biased
Thanks. The factory baby blue trim stripe wasn't working for me. I just picked up the silver pinstripe at my local auto store and applied it myself. It has held up perfectly for about a year, so far.
Decided I didn't want to hit my painter up for any more favors since he has gotten so busy. Decided to try my hand at painting. Took a messed up isn't mixture at work and modified it (joys of working for a paint supply company). Good bit of sanding and wiping. 3 coats and a mist coat and 3 coats of clear. Letting it air dry and will wet sand tomorrow. Using the stock chopped fender off my fxdls since they aren't worth much to most so makes a god trial piece.
It came out pretty good. Wet sanding the clear should get rid of the last little bit it has. Kind of shocked myself how smooth it came out. Then again it's 95% prep work with painting.
Thanks. This was a spare fender I was testing with. Originally I was going to spray the bike Basque red pearl like the newer Hondas, but the more I look at this blue the better I like it so I might just use it instead. There is so much metallic in it that I can't wait to see it buffed and some sun on it. Only problem is I just shot from the hip on mixing it just to have something to spray. So to match it again I've got to do a color shot and hope for a close match lol.
