Hi Guys, I just bought a 2004 XL 1200 C a few weeks ago to accompany my bagger. I'm really digging it. It does make me feel young again.
I'm the type of guy that would rather look through the windshield than over it.
I have the stock Harley detachable that measures about 19 3/4" from the top of the headlight cutout to the top. The headlight itself measures about 6 1/2".
The width of the screen is right at 20" which I like. It looks slim but, I just want it taller. Does anyone make a replacement screen for this that would be a fair amount taller? Thanks, I'll get some pics up of her soon.
I have a 2016 1200 custom with the same detachable windshield you r describing. I took my bike to a company that makes plexiglass windshields, I told them I wanted it taller, wider, and longer at the bottom. I removed the detachable windshield and left it with them, came back 3 hours later and they had installed the new windshield on my detachable hardware. I then installed it on the bike. $199.00 out the door. I love it.
Now that is cool and just what I would like to have. There may be some place like that, maybe in Knoxville TN close to where I live. I need to research that.
