09 Ultra , how do you tie yours down , right now i have the wheel vise and the small jack under the frame as you can see but i am going the pull the wheels off etc and will be moving the jack around and off . Right now is stable as a rock but im just curious how others do
If pulling the front wheel off, I don't do that on the lift. I use my floor jack for that. When pulling the rear wheel off, I have the front wheel in the chock and the tie downs around the front forks and secured to the lift at the proper strap hook U-mounts. Then I jack up the rear using the scissor jack underneath as you have it. I also have a drop plate in the lift to better allow for rear wheel removal.
When I was still working we sometimes would pull both wheels on a lift similar to the one you are using. We would place an OTC cycle jack under the bike and then lift it off the table. We placed out riggers in the spots where the side extensions would have gone to run the tie downs to. Now at home I use a J&S jack or the Eazyrizer big blue jack.
