2016 street glide special, ETMS keeps turning itself back on after disabling it, even if I go a mile or two. it definitely isn't hot. ill turn if off get to a red light its back on running on one hump.

Then you have not turned it off once off it will not come back unless you turn it on.

Turn switch on, push off run button to on, roll throttle to off position and hold. cruise indicator lamp will flash orange when off. have done this several times and it will turn back on.

I'm guessing you have developed a habit if counter-rotating your throttle and you are re-enabling it unintentionally. I have inadvertently enabled/disabled when struggling to back up or move forward on a slight incline or dirt/gravel road.

I haven't checked mine since first being set and really don't pay attention. But are you saying that rolling the throttle forward will automatically shut it off? I hope not as that is one of the ways I disengage cruise control.
