Shop says the stage 3 kits are back ordered until march,,,WHAT!! Wait, it's winter here what do I care. Still, a bitch to have the bike gone that long, I keep thinking spring will sneak in and I will miss a day of riding. Actually it will only cost me money. I ordered the blackout lit for the posts and pushrod covers. No labor since the engine will be apart anyway! What will it be next?

just a bit of advice from a stage three owner. Since you got to wait I would strongly suggest you consider getting the adjustable push rods. Only a little over two hundred bucks and will keep that motor very quite. The stock push rods tend to rattle a bit with a staged engine. Plus HD now offers the gloss black set which looks really sharp. If ya got to wait you really might want to consider.

I probably will do that. The gloss black rod covers and blocks are $188, the kit with the adjustable rods is $249, both minus 15% and both no labor since the engine is already torn down. Good to know about the rattle, Thanks for that!

Were you wanting to get in done within the first 60 days of purchasing the bike for warranty purposes or was that not a concern?
60 days was not a concern. I've been a Harley rider for many years and have been treated well by all the dealers I have done business with, I don't really worry about things I have done at the dealership, and I am not a hot rod on the street anymore. I used to be but I also knew then if I broke it it was on me, and I broke it a lot!

I think it really makes the engine look great. Since you are already taking the heads off you might as well throw the black lower rocker box covers on too. My new SGS with stage II was delivered Friday.
