Magic of torque. I was raised in a big block Chevy household where 427 and 509 were the norm. I learned to love high-revving horsepower but still think nothing beats a big bore torque machine. Even better when you can build a strong, light bottom end that will spin up above 7k.
I'm with you on that. I still own a '65 Chevelle I swapped a "modernized" L88 427/440 into. 600 hp/480 tq that pulls hard from just above idle to 7200 rpm. Nothing quite like cubes and rpm together.
Picked up new exhaust last night! Went with the TBR 2-into-1 gen 1 system. Love the way it looks, love the way it sounds, and can't wait to switch from current 2-2 (V&H Big Radius) to a 2-1.
I research everything like crazy before I do it so now I get to spend a few days driving myself mad making sure I know exactly what to expect doing the change...I know it's relatively easy but for whatever reason my brain likes to make sure it knows every possible scenario ahead of time. Also need to figure out how to get to the plug on the power commander 3 on my bike. Whoever installed it buried it under everything under the seat and behind the electric box. Going to try taking off my battery box to access it first, seems easier than taking off the ecm.
Anyone running these pipes? On the Dynojet site seems like a lot of the maps that would be what I'd need say to run without o2 sensors. The guy I bought it from was running it with o2 sensors.
Love getting to learn about new stuff.
I had a set on my LRS. I have a Dynojet PV that I got from Fuel Moto and got their map for my bike. I used the o2 sensors and did a few auto tune sessions. Worked just fine.
If your tuner came from Fuel Moto, they’ll send you the tune you need.
Only reason I switched is I’m currently doing motor work, and I’m replacing the TBR with Horsepower Inc’s Superpipe. I also have their throttle body and they are doing the dyno tune.
Removed the stock baffles and installed The QQ baffles by Big City Thunder. The bike sounds wicked , Not too loud , Not too quiet , Just right. All I did to my bike today was ride. Meant to be fine whole way so took no wet weather gear. I was so bloody wet when I got home. .. but at least my intercom unit had showed up so spent the afternoon working that out .
Hells yeah. We built quite a few L88 and ZL1 clones. Amazing engines. I've never had the pleasure of trying one, but I lust after an LS7.
427 CID has same bore stroke ratio as 327...quick to rev and off road model can go 7200 RPM all day long.....I did everything except paint....I tubbed / caged / built my own blower drive / setup the 671 / holley list 4779 double pumpers heavily reworked / 010" 0ver L88 427 4 bolt main / cross drilled tufrided L88 / ZL1 crank / 7/16" off road rods/ 18 PSI on pump gas / corvette TH400 / 3500 stall converter / 44" wide dana 60 / 14x32's Smokem

Youll love the TBR.
Rad thanks man. I'm so excited to get it installed. Unfortunately the PC3 was on when I got the bike so I have no idea where it came from. On the dynojet website they have a tune for bub rinehart 2-1 so I might start with that.
I'm doing a trip down to Mexico this weekend with a couple buddies from out of town so I really want to get these put on before then but I'm trying to figure out if I should just wait until after. All the dynojet maps that are close say they need the rev xtend installed. I'm not sure if it is on my bike until I dig into the mess of wires under my seat.
Would it be foolish of me to get a somewhat close 2-into-1 map put on the PC3 even if I don't have the exact setup they call for? Or should I wait until I can do it exactly?
