Default Just came back feom bike show.... oh man oh man

I just came back from motorcycle show where HD had a booth with 2018 models. I tried to seat and check the comfort of few different models and I have to say 2018 Harley Haritage Softail blew me away with what they did to this bike. Currently I have 2014 Slim but comfort of this 2018 Haritage is way better comparing my stock Slim which is basically bad for me. Based on my experience I plan to kick it up a notch and bring it as close as possible to 2018 Haritage model specs as far as seat and handlebars set up. I initially planned on instalation of risers from DeLuxe 4" up and 1" back (sitting at 2018 Deluxe as already way better experience due to these risers) but now I question myself If I should even bother with risers upgrade or go straight to upgrading handlebars.

So far I also upgraded to forward controls but most likely will go to 2" extension brackets yo allow me to stretch a bit more.

Hope someone can help me out here

I am looking for dimensions of Handlebars for Haritage model. How hard it is to wire these bars as I will most likely try to install them on my 2014 Slim?

Other question I have is what material HD used on 2018 Haritage seat - wooow that was comfy and soft like sofa. I installed mustang vintage seat which is quite good but now I am considering putting gel in this sucker as dealer rep told me 2018 model seat is still foam while gel is even more comfortable then what I sat on which was really nice.

Feel free to share your experience with comfort upgrades to your Slim or other Softail models as I am looking for long distance comfort and while Slim stock look is a kiler for me I am affraid I will have to alter few things to get to more comfort.

BTW I am 5'10" just in case anyone else with this height is looking for same mods.

Trade your slim in on the Heritage.

I dont want to spend extra 10k so this is rather not an option for me. I feel to get this bike to my comfort zone will cost max 500-1000$ not 10k

I would not recommend riding the heritage then. It would be almost impossible to get the comfort of the 2018 without buying a 2018. Different shock placement and new frame make it more comfortable and ride better

My problem is foot/hands placement and body position. I was hoping to install below seat and haritage bars and that should get me there.

surprisingly 2018 models dont feel that much different comparing to pre 2018 models as far as body position (at least when I compared mine 2014 to 2018 same ergonomics exactly) of course performance, suspension and frame are completely different.

Comfort is always going to come with a cost. It is trial and error. No easy path around it. You will have to buy what you feel is the closest fit and try it. If it doesn't work, either buy risers or switch out bars again. Same with the seat. That is coming from experience. I have extra bars, risers and seats laying around trying to find right fit and it cost money...period. Secondly, you cannot merely sit on a bike once you have the seat and bars to your liking and think your done. You have to ride with this new setup for hundreds of miles to see if it is comfortable. Only then, have you nailed it.
As far as the bike they have at a dealership to find proper seat and bars for a rider is Bologna......It's a sales pitch to have you buy bars and seats that don't fit and they have your money.
Good luck on your comfort journey.

I own a slim and I have to say you might be chasing your tail on this one... what ever you do don't go ride the 2018 or you are going to be in real trouble with this one...
