About to do some changes to my 2001 Dyna Low Rider
I'm about to put 14" apes on and thinking about putting a 30" sissy bar on as well. My biddy says he thinks it will look weird because it sits low, but I don't fully agree with him. What are your opinions?
Got a picture of what your bike looks like now? That might help.
And are you measuring the height of the sissy bar from totally height or how much taller it is than the fender?
Do anything to make it sit lower? Despite the name I never though Lowriders sat low or at least what I considered low.
Here's a Lowrider with 14" apes (04FXDL's bike)
I'm guessing it would look similiar to this (Betros' bike)
Half the choppers ever made have tall apes and sissys. It's so common as to be a cliche. Saying a low Harley would look stupid with them is probably a fringe opinion.
I say go for it. It's what you want from your bike. Worse case you have to take the parts off and sell them. By the way I like that Yellow/black paint job you have, don't see a lot of that.
I think you're headed the right direction. That headlight and all the chrome is screaming for a more old skool look that the T bars are currently ruining. My opinion...so that and a fiver will buy you a coffee.
