I'm planning on picking up a used tour pack (pre-Rushmore) The one I'm looking at has a "spoiler" on it. Will this interfere with installing a luggage rack?
I can get a new Mutazu (spelling?) for less money. Any feedback from people who have one? I've heard they're flimsy and the cover flexes,

Either unit will have to be color matched.
Jim
If you are going to color match it (paint it) why does it matter?
Just unbolt the spoiler (99% sure they are just bolted on) fill the holes before you paint.
Back when I had my 01 I picked up a used tour pack (I planned on quick disconnect setup).
It had all the lights/speakers and trim (I would guess from an Ultra).
Anyway I stripped it down (pulled the lights/speakers/trim) and filled in all the holes (some big holes for those lights).
Sanded it down and then primed and painted, you could not tell from the outside.
From the inside you had to lift the liner to see the glass work.
Also if you have time be patient some people are very high on prices.
My local CL prices range from 150 to 1250 for a tour pack (used)

I can get a new Mutazu (spelling?) for less money ...A buddy has one of these and it's "okay" ... Yes it is rather "flexible" ... He has a quick dis-connect and uses the pack just once in a while.
Personally I’d stick with the Harley....AND i think you will have better luck with the mount and i recommend the detachable...
As far as the spoiler it should not interfere with luggage rack...
If you need more info on Matuzo do an advanced search...Aso check with Touring section..
Good Luck..
This box...Harley,Spoiler-luggage rack...
I went the mutazu and it's fine... I didn't mind it being black, and my bike "smokey gold"...it was behind me, and it served it's purpose I found an OEM tour pack on EBAY with quick connect, backrest, and top rack, I made the man an offer, and the deal was done.
I sold the mutazu to a friend, for half what I paid for it, and figure, it was a fair deal... I used the mutazu for 3 years, and several trips... now he's had it, for a couple of years, and several trips...
Over all, I'd watch craigs list, on ebay, and you might get a color match unit...
i too am looking for a used tour pack.... I bought a used scooter box from local scooter shop for $25. Drilled couple holes and mounted to sheet of 1/4" plastic and mounted that on quick disconnect luggage rack. Painted flat black and off we went to Sturgis. Did ok on the trip. but when all said and done, the hinges broke and she was a bit wobbley. I need to look into that and see if there's something that could be done better. If I could find a $200 or less box, I'd be happy! Just something for trips only. Not interested in fashion show!!
Buy a plain aftermarket tour pack and buy HD hinges and lock kit,The price on the older Hardware Is really cheap compared to the new single latch price.I Think I bought mine at Hog Works , That was back in 2012 , the way my wife slams the lid around it has with stood a lot lol..
