Best way to clean inside fuel tank.?

Once you get it clean, try Caswell tank sealer. When my bike was painted last year the painter sent the tank to a guy to clean and seal even though it was a brand new tank from J&P. He put the tank on a rotisserie to evenly coat everything inside. He says the stuff will last forever.

The factory coating inside the tank on my Sportster was flaking away. Filled it with white vinegar. Let it sit overnight or longer, pour it out, straining it through a sock for reuse, then blasted the inside with a pressure washer. After 2 or 3 rounds the tank was spotless. After the last flush, mix up a little baking soda and water to fill the tank and neutralize any leftover vinegar trace or it'll start rusting up. A year later and the tank is still clean inside.
