Marvin said that adapter will be fine as i've placed it, so:

cooler cover arrived:

sliced up lines like before but, upgraded the cutting tool... made a hell of a difference from the little dremel i used last time. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...l#post13837161

swapped in injector clamps in the fake an covers. could only use them one side of the hose.

all on. letting the gasket maker dry/cure on the cooler cover

I've had that same cheap-o HF "dremel" for years. Still kicking! HF surprises me sometimes.

the little guy is cool but was a pain on the braided lines last time. this thing cut through the hoses like hot knife through butter.

the gasket set on the cooler cover so i put a filter on and rolled is ot to let it run. ran it for ten minutes and there was no issues or leaks but, it wasn't under load, we will have to see how this plays out later.

washed it again, this time, thoroughly to get all that oil out of the hard to reach areas. found a lot while i was working on the cooler plumbing. foam cannoned with citrus wash in the crevasses, then hand washed again, waxed and all that stuff.

tried s100 engine brightener. way cleaner than gunk engine shine. will have to see how bad it smokes compared to the gunk shine.

I use S100 all the time, and it never smokes. Don't use the engine bright but. It's the best stuff I've used.

the engine bright doesn't get rinsed off, it kinda gets baked on. i will start it up a little later to see what we get. there was much less slop than the gunk shine.

figured i should take a look inside the cylinders to see if there was any damage from the oil rubbish. broke out the endoscope and looked in.

walls were fine but, the front piston was sooty with a strange clean spot.

endoscope:

that strangeness in the front cylinder made me want to test the compression: Front =~151psi / Rear = ~150. that's up from the a few months ago :

took the bike out and beat on it to see how the cooler adapter held up. it worked out just fine. filter never budged, i marked it with a white marker and repeatedly checked it during the run. no oil anywhere to be found.

bike is so much more fun than that dyna.

I saw the endoscope vid on youtube and searched out the thread to see what happened. Looks like you've had an interesting week or two. Glad its sorted now.
