In a Russian EMP strike, you will NOT be worried about your iron horse.

good luck with lead, EPA has forced the closures of all USA lead smelters. You will have to use your gold, or buy your lead from the chi-coms.

No. The last of the *primary* lead smelters in the USA shut down some years ago. Secondary lead smelters are still going.

Primary lead smelters shut down mostly because lead is so recyclable the need for smelting raw ore has all but dried up.

Recycling lead through secondary smelters is still a viable going business, even in the USA.

Did the EPA play a part? Yes. Because primary lead smelters had a long history of terrible pollution. Heavy lead and mercury contamination of the ground and waters for miles around them, without regard to who they hurt.

Business was was already weak for primary lead smelters. When facing being held responsible for their mess, many shut down, with golden parachutes for top executives, and brain damage for the workers and neighbors.

Had one years ago on an 03 ElectraGlide, had to do donuts in a parking lot to calibrate it. Better than an air temp gauge I guess.

In all seriousness, When you calibrate the compass you are supposed flash the hi/low beam a bunch of times then ride around in circles. LOL

Remind me NOT to DO that when I finished my pint at O’malleys.......
