Seems like every year or so the 110 engine has another problem of some sort. Has HD finally got it right with the 2011 SE engines?

I've got two, both are 2010's. Neither have over 5000 miles on them yet but so far only two issues.

The powder coating starting to flake on the left case. HD is to replace the case this winter and oil consumption on the same motor. Uses 1 QT every 1000 miles (has 3056 miles on it). HD is to investigate the oil consumption when they replace the case.

Got a Candy Concord 2010 FLHXSE 110, added Rinehart True Duals and ThunderMax fuel injection with auto-tuning as you ride. Up to 9,500 miles with no problems. And having a ball with incredible torque up to 105 foot pounds and feeling every pound! Getting outa tight spots in seconds!

I got a buddy with a 2008 SE Dyna ,
It uses a quart every 800 miles
He has a 7 year warranty
Harley has tore it down 3 times
(1 time was to replaces the cases due to paint flaking too)

They just had it in again and this time did nothing
They are gonna re - dyno it
WTF
Whats that gonna do
I think they are tired of tearing it down because they dont have a clue

When I ride behind him I can see it puff smoke once in a while
and smell oil

I wouldnt ever buy a 110 bike because of all his trouble

Anyone got any help for him?
Ideas?

Thanks

I'd be interested to know what you find out on the oil usage. My husband has an 08 Dyna CVO that is using over 1 quart every 1000 miles and we are mystified. HD keeps doing leak down and compression tests that come out fine!
