Need help figuring this out. 06 road king brake calipers
Hey guys,
I'm stumped here and need some help. Had a wreck on my 06 RK. Bent front fork and fender . Found a guy who builds forks and had him build me one. It was a 4 hour drive one way to pick it up. Got home and realized that he had the triple tree switched putting the outer forks ahead of the neck both. The lowers are backwards if I turned the tree the correct way. Figured out that I could loosen the pinch bolts and swap the forks and it made em line up right. Got that done and started to put my axle in and realized the lowers were compatible with a 3/4" axle, not the 1" my RK has. Ordered a 3/4" axle and the spacers/reducers to take it from 1" to 3/4". Got that done. Go to bolt up my calipers....lowers are on a 3.25" center to center measure. Thinking the lowers are from an 84-99 evo road king. I realize it probably would be best to use the lowers that the 06 calls for but I'm outta cash and time on this thing. Gotta get this thing on the road. Can I just put the 84-99 calipers on and be good ? If I'm going to have to change the master cylinder and lines and all that, I'll probably just order new lowers and redo the fork. Trying to find the quickest, easiest , and cheapest way to get this done. My RK is my transportation to and from work and I'm outta time and money. I know quickest, easiest ,cheapest ...pick 2. Just trying to get this done. Thanks for the help in advance
